Free Services from the Magazine Clinic

A prime benefit of purchasing from Magazine Supermart is the quality of service. Our accounts don't miss issues, get duplicates or wait three months for their service to start or six months for an address change. Most importantly, they get what they pay for!

As a free service, we are happy to help anyone with a magazine service problem. Click the topic listed below for details. Of course, to avoid these problems, next time be sure place your order with Magazine Supermart. If you have a problem not covered here, visit our customer service center for quick relief.

Duplicate or triplicate issues
If you're receiving duplicate issues, it's usually the result of sloppy service on the part of the agency you've purchased from. Our customers rarely have this problem, but when they do, it's easy to fix. Just go right to the customer service form, give us all the details, and we'll straighten things out.

If you want duplicates, as some larger business do, some publishers make it tough. They assume it's a mistake and simply extend the one subscription for additional years. Instead of getting two or three copies of fashion digest, you'll get one issue for two or three times as long. Try entering the subscription with different names, or call the publisher directly. Their phone numbers can often be found by going to www.magazine800.com. Of course, this is another problem that customers of Magazine Supermart do not have to handle on their own--we do all the work for our accounts to correct any problems. (return to top of page.)

How to tell when your magazines expire
With most magazines, it's easy to find the expiration date; just look at the upper right hand corner of your label. You'll almost always find the month and year of expiration abbreviated.

I got ripped off!
This can be tough. Publishers will almost always go out of their way to set things straight. However, if you paid an agency in advance, and can't get satisfaction, you may have to contact a higher authority like your state's Attorney General or the FTC. They take legitimate complaints very seriously. The Better Business Bureau can be effective, but is usually not the best choice for such problems.

You should be aware that in addition to whatever rights you have, you also have responsibilities. If your problem is with an agency that refuses to cancel an order that you placed, be sure that your complaint is valid. If you agreed to the terms, and if they were explained honestly, carefully and correctly, then you'll be expected to honor the agreement if the agency does. (return to top of page.)
